REMINDERS: *The students will have the unit 1 math test on Thursday, September 11th. A study guide will come home next week. *The students took the spelling pretest today. The spelling words came home today. Please read the note about spelling below. Dear 3rd Grade Parents, In your child’s backpack mail today you will find their first spelling list of the school year. Our standard procedure is to take our pretests on Friday and our final tests on the following Friday. There are three levels of spelling words. All children are tested on the 10 words on ‘List B.’ If there are 0, 1, or 2 errors, your child will receive ‘List C.’ If there are 3, 4, or 5 errors, your child will remain on ‘List B.’ If there are more than 5 errors, your child will receive ‘List A.’ Please review the spelling words for a few minutes each night. It is expected that the children complete 3 activities throughout the course of the week. Spread those out however it works into your schedule. When your child has completed at least three homework practice assignments, simply sign their assignment notebook (in the space in the Spelling column), and your child will receive credit for completing the work. Nothing else has to be turned in to me. Your signature tells me that adequate practice took place. Performing well on the weekly posttest will be each student’s way of proving that they did their work, however it is their responsibility to remind you to sign their book. Students who forget to have their book signed by Friday will receive a Homework Alert. Have a wonderful weekend and happy spelling!! The 3rd Grade Team |
