We got 4 postcards today :)
Watch the video newsletter to see what we learned this week. Please remember to sign and return the unit 2 math test and math RSA. Remember that picture day is next Wednesday, October 2. Next week, the students will not have fluency homework. Instead, the students will be an i-Agent. Today, the students got a research question - What is the difference between an asteroid and a comet. For homework next week, the students will research this question and answer it using Pic Collage or Explain Everything. Then, students will post their Pic Collage or Explain Everything to their blog. Next week, students will begin multiplication time tests. The students will begin with x2. Once they get all of the answers correct twice in a row, they will move on to x5. Students will only have about 3 seconds to write their answers leaving no time to count on their fingers. The purpose of the time tests is to help students learn multiplication automaticity. Please practice multiplication facts with your child. Over the weekend, check out your child's blog to see what they worked on this week. Hope you enjoy your weekend! Please watch the video newsletter to see what your child learned this week. This week, we learned about the phases of the moon. Each child created a pixie picture to demonstrate their knowledge of the moon phases. Check out your child's blog to see their phases of the moon pixie. Your child's blog can be found under the 3-3's blog tab on my website. There is a great science app on your child's iPad called planets. This ties in nicely with our solar system unit. Please have your child explore the planets app over the weekend or sometime next week. Next Thursday, the students will take the unit 2 math test. Hope you enjoy your weekend! We got ten postcards today. Some of the state facts were so specific the students were able to guess the state. What a fun day! Look in your child's assignment notebook to see which states we have received postcards from. Watch the video newsletter to see what your child learned this week. On Tuesday, the students watched a music for youth assembly. This week in WEX, the students continued to work on the skill of focus. In science, the students created a model that demonstrated daytime and nighttime. The videos are below. On Thursday, the students completed a quick check. This is not a test, but the score is entered into the gradebook as a class assignment. Some of the students in the class have started to blog. All of the student's blogs are listed under 3-3's blogs. Check your child's blog to see what they learned this week. Next week, every child will add to their blog. Every week, I will enter the spelling words for both lists on spelling city. You can create a free account. Then, your child can log in to the spelling city app on his/her iPad and play the free games. If your child misplaces their spelling list, you can look for the list on the spelling city app. Enjoy your weekend! |
